About Me

Born and bred in Teesside, North East of England but now living in Cheshire in North West England. I hold a Masters degree (with Distinction) in Business Administration and have an Associateship Distinction from the Royal Photographic Society.

My love for aviation was kindled at an early age with weekends spent at Teesside airport (now Durham Tees Valley) and the frequent trips to Newcastle, Leeds and occassionally Heathrow. Airshows such as Mildenhall and Finningley were annual pilgrimages, it's disappointing they're no longer here.

Photography became a natural extension of my aviation hobby and I have enjoyed capturing a wide variety of images worldwide for over 25 years.

My early working career was spent in the RAF as an Air Traffic Controller, while more recently I spent 16 years developing a career in finance with the HBOS group before moving on to heading up a Corporate Finance company in early 2008.

My photography has always been with Canon equipment. I own three 1 series bodies (2 1d MK IV's & a 1ds MK111) as well as some superb Canon L glass along with a host of (necessary)accessories. While I haven't as yet pitched myself as a photgrapher within a specific field my fondness for aviation pulls me to it more frequently than other aspects of photography - although wildlife is catching up fast!

I'm fortunate to have met some fantastic people through photography many of whom I class as my peer group and whose work I greatly admire. Some of their work can be found on the Links page.
