One Manor, Two Châteaux and Some Wine.

Two wonderful weeks with my lovely wife taking in the Jurassic Caost, Normandy and the Loire. We started off in Dorset photographing along the Jurassic Coast at sunrise and sunset, with visits to Arne RSPB in between.
The hidden gem of Manoir de Thionville was to be our home for 4 days in Normandy, a quiet, romantic retreat in the countryside. Just bliss. After touring Normandy we headed south via Caen and Le Mans to Tours and the Loire Valley. The royal city of Amboise was to be our base with Château Des Ormeaux our home.
The Loire valley is a stunning location, with the Loire winding through wonderful cities such as Tours, Amboise and Blois. Sadly, it, and Normandy, put much of this country (and its people) to shame with polite, conscientious individuals.
While the aim of the trip was our first two weeks away together for too long a period the photography was incredible, several images have been added to the site. The Jurassic coast with Durdle Door, Kimmeridge Bay and Man O war Bay were a few favourites. Then in Normandy, Saint Mere Eglise, Utah Beach, and one of the most incredible places I have ever visited in the world, Omaha Beach and the American cemetery. The town of Carentan was stunning and of course where a key battle on D Day took place. We visited Amboise and its chateaux along with the incredible chateaux at Chambord and Chenonceau. Wine tasting at Vouvray was a hoot and the days in the Orleans forest with the Ospreys just magical with an amazing sunset to end the day.
We headed back north to Mont Saint Michel via the home of the French Air Force Alpha Jets at Tours.
Reluctantly, we boarded the ferry at Cherbourg arriving 3 hours later at Portsmouth, to heavy traffic, roads full of pot holes and speed cameras.
Roll on August when we're off to the Seychelles - Whohoo!!! Before then I'll be back out to Qatar and heading north to Scotland for the Ospreys at Loch of the Lowes and Loch Garten as well as a trip to France for the Nato Tiger meet in Reims.
