Air & Space 2016 Photo Contest
The Air & Space magazine, part of Smithsonian Enterprises, Washington, DC, holds an annual photo contest that is very popular with both professional and amateur photographers. Now in its 4th year entries come from around the world to compete in various categories. Garry has twice been a finalist but went one better this time with his image of four young boys watching the RAF Red Arrows displaying at Southport, England winning the People & Planes category.
The judges commented "People & Planes is usually our most contentious category because it draws the best and most poignant photographs. But your picture of those boys watching the display was a favourite from early on, and reminded many of the judges of our own childhoods when we did much the same thing"
